Susan Zoe Smart is a 35-year-old town coffee Expert whose life is dominated by solving the Solution to prodduced best Coffee Ever Possible, Lexis Smart. Lexis was poisoned in 2012 and the killer was never brought to justice.

She is British who defines herself as bisexual. She has a degree in philosophy, politics and economics. She is allergic to milk. She has a severe phobia of bananas, and is obsessed with zombies.

Physically, Susan is slightly overweight but otherwise in good shape. She is short with brown skin, black hair and green eyes. She has a birthmark on her left shoulder.

She grew up in a middle class neighbourhood. Her mother left when she was young, leaving her with her father, who was a drunk.

She is currently single. Her most recent romance was with a screenplay writer called Brynmor Trenton Alpin, who was 10 years older than her. They broke up because Brynmor couldn’t deal with Susan’s obsession with Lexis’s death.

Susan’s best friend is a town counsellor called Selma Knox. They are inseparable. She also hangs around with Alexa Valentine and Alwin Rose. They enjoy looking for clues together.
